IAEA Training Course Begins

On September 8, begins training course offered for IAEA Fellows at the Department of Nuclear Reactors. The participants will spent a whole month with theoretical lectures, practical exercises from computer modelling and experimental work, and visits of experimental reactors in the Czech Republic.

Department starts its YouTube channel

Department of nuclear reactors has launched its channel on Youtube. Here you can see the first stream. The movie shows the criticality experiment performed at VR-1 training reactor by master degree students of the department. During this experiments, students take part in assembling the new core and reaching of its first critical state

Special award of Nuclear Engineering International jounal

In the contest of nuclear engineering training courses organised by the journal of Nuclear Engineering International, the EERRI group (Eastern European Research Reactor Initiative) was awarded for the „Research Reactor Group Fellowship Program“ training course. Awarded was the cooperation of nine organisations of seven European countries which enable to participants from countries developing their nuclear programm or research, to access the experimental nuclear facilities, and high-quality training courses. The course was finantially and logistically supported by IAEA.

Out of seven totally organised courses, five took partly place at the VR-1 training reactor operated by the department. The paper is available here .
